A CASA LONTANI DA CASA
Every year, around 800.000 patients are forced to travel from their residence to receive the care they need. Medical travel is not only emotionally challenging but also financially burdensome: a patient receiving treatment far from home spends between 200 € and 5.000 €.
Thanks to a network of associations, an alliance of organizations that share the desire to welcome and assist those on medical journeys, "A Casa Lontani Da Casa" is committed to providing comprehensive support by connecting the available hospitable homes in the area and ensuring personal assistance and free services to offer all possible support to patients on medical trips and their families.
FFrom the beginning, International Care Company decided to support the project by managing a dedicated toll-free assistance number free of charge and providing support to those who need to travel for medical reasons or are already on the move.
Since 2021, International Care Company has also been included in the "Milano Solidale" guide, where it offers the DOC24 service at controlled prices. "Milano Solidale" was created to provide an overview of the services offered by the city of Milan to those who are forced to stay away from home for health reasons. The guide serves as a "first aid orientation" among the organizations operating in the city of Milan, which are autonomous, independent, and solely responsible for their own services.
The aim is to facilitate access to existing and available services, which often remain unused due to a lack of connection and visibility.
